Three Days Work to Go

I took this shot of Bernie on his way out the front door with 3 days work to go.
He is going on 6 months Long Service Leave & holidays to see if he will like retirement.
We hope to do a few trips & jobs around the house while he is "practising" not going to work.
So after 42 years with his company, he is on countdown.
Not many people can say they have been with the same company for that long.
We are both very excited & looking forward to the change.
I thought to share this with you, my friends on 365, as you have shared your life moments with me. :)
He has had that "Gladstone Bag" for all that time :)
Hope you have a wonderful time together , doing all those things you haven't had time to do

That's a great picture and you will have such fun during these six months ... happy days. And happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Wow, that's an impressive work history and I'm doubly amazed that he's had the same bag the whole time!

Wow, 42 years with the same company! That's impressive! I hope you both get to enjoy his retirement trial run!

I was admiring his bag. that in itself is a treasured keepsake, and I hoep it all works out for your best and you can spend some happy retirement together. Congrats on the longevity of his working career and a relaxing change ahead. I must say though, if he has been withthe comapny for that many years, it is going to be a huge change, not going to work.

Nice idea to have a trial retirement. I don't think I have ever heard of this. I hope being together all the time won't cause any problems for the two of you. :-) It took a while for us to get into some routine when we both retired. I had been retired for a couple years and enjoyed my time alone in the house but when Pat retired it was a different ball game. But now we are fine.

Wonderful photo of Bernie, Lois. I've never heard of a trial at retirement, but it's a terrific idea. Gives him a chance to experience it and see if it will work for both of you. Good luck!
