Today we went out for the day with my brother & his wife.
They picked us up at 8.30am & we headed south towards Tyagrah in NSW via Banora Point a lovely drive.
We had morning tea at "House of Gabriel", a cafe by the Tweed River - coffee & cake.
They have a wonderful shop attached that sells ladies clothes & accessories - just wonderful & reasonably priced.
At the back of the property there was a shed full of antiques & bric-a-brac - nice to browse through.
Lunch was had by the Tweed River just across the bridge from Murwillumbah. This dog was waiting for any food that might drop to the ground :)
I spied a fellow having lunch under his umbrella - I got a shot of him :)
Next we called at the Tweed River Art Gallery, on the Burringbar Range Road. photo
We spent an hour here looking at their gallery.
We spied a "rock ram" in the garden - photo :)
We headed out to "Natural Arch", a natural rock formation that has a waterfall running through the hole in the rock into a deep pool.
40 years ago we used to climb up to the very top of this arch & jump through the rock waterfall into the deep hole - it used to be a popular swimming hole, but a few people drowned & they banned swimming altogether. It is a magical place to do a walk.
Afternoon tea was pancakes, freshly cooked in a park just outside Nerang with a hot cuppa - photo.
It was getting pretty cool by then, so we headed off home.
A lovely day spent with good company, eating good food.
We hope to do this more often now that 3 of us are retired. :)
What a great set of pictures from you day out; sure looks like a good day too... so Q is... were you tempted to climb up and do that jump one more time Lois ..lol.. I bet you were ((O: glad you had a nice day
Some wonderful photos in your collection. I really like the puppy, and the stone sculture tha tlooks like a huge guinea pig. The antique place sounds very interesting too.
