Rain Rain Go Away

Today, Lynda & I had a lovely lunch at the "Limelight" Restaurant attached to the Logan Entertainment Centre.
It is not a well known place to eat, but comes highly recommended.
As we left the restaurant, the sky was looking very bleak & it had started to rain.
Lynda suggested that we visit the nearby Logan Art Gallery, where she volunteers, until it blew over.
We did this, but the weather turned nasty & we were in the middle of a massive storm. Lynda was concerned with the drain next to her unit complex being blocked, so we headed back to her place.
Luckily we did, it needed to be cleared of leaves.
To make this worse, a car had parked on top of the grate, so we couldn't move it.
The body corporate changed the grates on the storm water drains to smaller openings & now the water can't get away fast enough & Lynda's unit has nearly been flooded a couple of times since.
This on top of a caretaker who does not maintain the area, adds to the problem when it rains.
Talk about a heavy storm - we ended up getting 1 1/2 inches of rain over the next 12 hours.
The grate has now been removed & witches hats placed around the opening.
Storms& heavy rain has been forecast for this Summer.
Wow, that looks like an intense storm! Glad to hear you got back to Lynda's place in time to clear out the drain!

I'm happy to say the drain cover has been removed and now all the rain gets away better than ever (with witches hats placed around the opening) and I no longer worry when it pours.

Love your description of witches hats. I had never heard that term but I know exactly what you mean! I hope they put the old grates back. Sounds like someone made a bad decision.
