Looking for Relatives - Allora Cemetery

Today we went to Toowoomba up on the Darling Downs to visit our dear friend Ted. He is not well & is now in a nursing home.
After a visit with him & his wife & daughter, we headed off to Allora, 52 km away.
Allora is a small town not far from Warwick. My mother was born there, as was her mother & her mother before that.
As you can see from the main plaque, our family has been in this area for over 180 years.
The other headstones are of my grandparents, great grandparents & great, great grandparents.
Lynda came with us & it was good for her to see where her ancestors came from, as it was many years since she was here.
We thoroughly enjoyed the day.
I must do more on my family tree to get it all together.
The family tree project is a lot of work, but it is interesting digging up all that information

It was absolutely freezing out at the cemetery! But it was good to get amongst the rellies and say hi to them all.

I even found one family plot where a young man was killed in France in WWI aged only 24. He died protecting his country.

We think of Australia as a young country but your family puts the lie to that! How wonderful to have everyone together in one resing place.
