I would love to know who names the state's wildflowers. This sweet tiny white daisy could have been called something kinder than "Fleabane"! That's actually a dock's frame reflected in the lake's water, along with the blue sky and clouds. This is from the same little photo walk I did a couple of weeks ago on a little lake inlet by a busy train station close to my home.
Its actually an erigeron and fleabane is the English version of the name. it has hairy leaves and stems and is a real wild flower. Nice to see it here growing amongst all the other grasses!
@happypat Oh you are so right, Pat. I love the flower identifying app, it has helped me a lot! You are right about the wild names being unforgettable! Ha!
The amazing thing to me is there must be many hundreds of tiny white daisies on long thin stems and I'm here to tell you that each one of them has a unique name. Fun, cool things are learned on 365 every day. Thank you for pushing this to the PP with your comments, I'm thrilled my Fleabane made that honor. Smile.
