Yayoi Kusama’s “All the Eternal Love I Have for the Pumpkins”
I visited the Dallas Museum of Art yesterday to see this Infinity Mirror Room installation of Kusama’s acrylic polka-dot pumpkins. Two people could enter at a time with one museum docent, for 45 seconds, no purses, one camera. When I walked through the door the scene before me took my breath away.
This reminds me of a piece I saw at the Museum of Art in Boston- that one had glass jars that went on for miles. Great shot! I don't understand why they don't allow purses- that's strange, but I do understand the limited amount of people in there. Too bad they limit your time to such a brief viewing.
@danette@olivetreeann@taffy@onewing@joansmor Thank you! Regarding not carrying a purse inside the exhibit, some purses are quite large and honestly some of the pumpkins were small.......also, the images of people are a lot nicer without a bag over their shoulder or on their back. I think this exhibit has been to LA, if it comes to a museum near you, it is well worth seeing.
