The horses of The Flint Hills of Kansas

Perhaps it was the time of year, but the cattle and horses we saw all looked like they were making the best of a hard scrabbled existence. This is another 70 mph photo, smile.
A great shot at that speed Lou Ann, you certainly captured a lovely scene.

You are so good at the drive by shot Lou Ann! I’m sure mine wouldn’t be anywhere near as good. Nice scene.

Just a bit short of grass I think, looks like you haven't had much rain. Like the addition of the loading ramp.

wouldn't have guessed this was from a car. i like the phrase 'hard scrabble'. the colours seem typically midwest to me somehow (not that i've ever been there - yet!)

Just this last week, I'm starting to see a lot more green in the fields - imagine that is making the horses and cattle a lot happier. You're right about the thin munchies before spring really kicks in around here. Another excellent drive-by shot.

Terrific 70 mph photo, Lou Ann! That land certainly looks dry and barren.
