One of the photos I took while Jerry was walking ahead the other day, smile. The city of Denton has made all the street intersections in the downtown area wheelchair accessible, with nice landscaping on each corner. These cone flowers loved the 100 degree weather!
I love cone flowers - and you see them in so many colors. We have them in our flowerbeds downtown, too. Really catch your eye when driving through. Glad they like the heat - imagine they're getting plenty of it.
@carole_sandford@gardenfolk@milaniet@annied These are such hardy, heat resistant flowers. We are starting our 100 degree Fahrenheit summer days and honestly if a plant isn’t heat tolerant, it won’t make it.
@annied We are in north Texas - the Dallas area. Our humidity Thursday was 94% but that was the day after the rain. The humidity here is so high! It is hard to be outside between say 10 in the morning till 9 or 10 at night. The high temperatures make the humidity oppressive, for sure. The pool is the only place to be, then you have to deal with the sun. Ha.
