Defoliated cotton ready to harvest

I visited my family in west texas this week and everyone was so happy for the bumper crop of cotton this year. Driving home there were miles of defoliated cotton, just waiting for the harvesters, who were working around the clock to beat a predicted rain storm this weekend. I’m so happy for west texas, this means so much to their economy.

i've seen a cotton bol but this is the first time i've seen a photo of an actual cotton field. interesting! that field is huge. aces!
