“When the Men Were Gone”

The October book club review was about a woman in a small west Texas town who became the high school football coach in 1944 when all the town’s men were called to serve in WW II. The author Marjorie Herrera Lewis is a sportswriter, she did an outstanding job with this book, it has won many awards.
