love the contrast between the colour of the barn and the lack of colour in the field - did you reduce saturation or vibrancy - or was the field just shades of grey?
@handymaurice - I slightly desaturated the greens, because the grass in front of the barn was screaming. And also spot desaturated the very front part of the field... The lighting was tricky, bright late afternoon sun coming from the right. Trying to balance the sign (which was not in direct light) with everything else.
@handymaurice - It is certainly not as common as it used to be. Perhaps just because there's not as many road-side barns as there were a few decades ago. I tend to think of it as a Southeast / midwest USA thing, also. But that may be just my perception (and the part of the country with which I'm most familiar).
