But just like the plane that was SUPPOSED to be our flight. Like good travelers, we left the hotel early enough to deal with potential traffic (in an unfamiliar town), and the unknowns of TSA (security checks). But the day started well, and it was smooth sailing up to our gate. We were there and ready 1.5 hrs before our flight. So I played around with a couple iPhone photos of the plane at the next gate. All fine.
Until....
First they announced that there was an "equipment change" for our flight, and the new plane was smaller. Guess whose seats no longer existed? Not too big a deal, we went through the line and were re-seated, but no longer together.
And back to waiting...
Then, just a couple minutes before we were scheduled to board, our flight was cancelled. Reportedly for "mechanical problems".
So we scrambled with the rest of the passengers to the nearest "Customer Service" desk to fight for seats on another flight. The best they could do for us was 7.5 hrs later. And middle seats. Ugh.
Oh well, we made it home safely, that's what really matters.
