Just a little something.... I think this is a 138kV subtransmission line, looking at the insulators.... but could be 115kV...
i'm going to take your word for it. Some fine geometry here.

Great graphic shot. Fav. If you don't know your 115kV from the 138kV maybe you'd better not get too close! But its the current that kills so you might survive if your clothing had sufficient resistance!

@lostphojo Thanks David! You're correct that it's the current that kills you,and either 115kV or 138kV is plenty of voltage to push the amps... Unless you're qualified, just stay away from downed lines! I actually work in power system protection and control (35+ years!), but I'm generally working with equipment inside the substation, not out on the poles.
