Fading Floodwaters

Today was the first weekend in a while that I was able to get over to Columbia Bottom Conservation Area. I stress "to" because we weren't able to get "into" the area. Still too much floodwater, the gates are closed.... Looks like the river level is down about 10' from peak, but is still on the high side of "moderate flooding". Quite a mess!

I don't see it as a mess at all. It's a flood plain doing what its supposed to do!
