Dark Woods

This area of forest is on Chouteau Island, under the old Chain Of Rocks Bridge (which used to carry Rt66 across the Mississippi River).

The dark areas at the bottom part of the trees is due to the flooding earlier this year. This area was under 10-15 ft of water for several weeks.

Open forest floors are always cool, but the dark leaves and the dark soil really bring out the "mood" in these woods.
