Bee Hive by lstasel

Bee Hive

Went back to Tom Sawyer today. Have been waiting for some sun so I could get this shot with blue sky instead of dull, boring grey. I think it worked. We didn't have any damage from Sunday nights' storm but the park had a few more trees down. The Goose Creek Trail at Tom Sawyer is a wildlife naturalization area so if you can climb over it or walk under it they don't usually remove the trees. Parts of it are like an obstacle course but not a bad hike and close to home.
Yep it works! Wonderful composition, great blue color!

How big is that and yes, I envy your blue skies. We are all grey, all the time now.

Not that big. Maybe 12" across and a little taller. It is probably 9'-10' off of the ground. Can't tell if it is still in use. When I checked my photos from last week it had wax covering about 50% of the holes. Those are now all open but it could be damage from the storm. I did see some honey bees out of their hive at home about one week ago so they could be coming out during the day. Honey bees are pretty placid, unlike yellow jackets, you can just brush them away. I'll post a picture of them on the hummingbird feeder.
