with a female Weaver. I felt so sorry for the poor little white eye, it stood no chance! I am posting 6 hours later than usual, as we have had no electricity for the past 12 hours! I tried with my cell but it did not work. I do apologize for not being able to comment today.
I find the weavers are very aggressive towards other birds around the sugar feeder. They even got so annoyed with a hummingbird feeder I put up with tiny holes for the long beaks of the sunbirds that they broke off the little yellow plastic flowers with the holes in them to try and get to the sugar water inside. Sometimes to give the other birds a chance I go out near. The weavers then fly off and the others come in to drink
Yes, the animal kingdom is not always as nice as we hope. I saw a squirrel pounce on a tiny bunny in the yard, chasing it away from the leavings at the bottom of the feeders.
