Photo 818
This little fellow was in my garden.
It is called a Skaapsteker, the Afrikaans word sheep stinger. The early settlers thought that this snake was killing their sheep hence the name. They later discovered that is was the Cape Cobra doing the damage. this fellow is harmless.
