Hi Diana - I just had to share this with you. We were at a conservation park yesterday and they had a wild bird free flying display. One of their birds was a Stone Curlew - and it was trained. At a certain point in the show he heard his intro call and ran out from the backstage area, across the front and took a piece of chicken from the hand of a tiny boy from the audience and then smartly ran off stage and into the background. It was so well organized - I'd never thought of them as being very clever or capable of responding much to human interaction. Cheers Rob
@robz Thanks Rob, all these birds are so clever and know exactly what's up in the flying shows. They even know which person has a little piece of chicken on their post! The smaller birds like the little owl eg, can also be petted. As it is just down the road from me, I have an annual ticket and pop in regularly. Such smart birds with exceptional hearing I love all birds. Cheers Diana xx
