So you make jelly from these also? It's very popular in Arizona, and, in Mexico, the flat pads are scraped and cooked as well! Unless one lives where they grow, they're unlikely to know how much good eating there is there!
We love prickly pear jelly, so good (I don’t make it, just try to find it during its season). @grammyn the cactus thorns have been removed from the paddles I think, so it does look so different.
