I added the background using PicMonkey. I saw the tree today and thought it would look good with this background, but I'm not doing this anymore! It's not something I really captured.
This is beautiful, Lynn. However, the siren's song of extreme post-production can lead us astray. I struggle with this addiction. There is a time and place, though...
I always feel a little guilty when I pull out all the stops on a shot. Your everyday photos are so good, I wonder why you bother with extensive PP. I assume you enter your work in local photo competitions. If not, you need to start.
Love this lynn and excuse this ignorant question as I havent done much with processing yet but isn't there a real creativity in processing and editing which one should be proud of?
Oh Lynn I am so glad I follow you and see every single awesome photo you put in here, they are so amazing and you have not disappointed yet again fabulous photo!…..fav
It's a gorgeous shot and a fav for me. I think the processing is totally justified--for me, it's whatever makes the best final result. After all, film photographers did processing in the darkroom. So I hope you will not feel that it's somehow wrong to edit your pictures on the computer.
There's nothing wrong with a good bit of editing. I actually enjoy the process. This has worked really well. The background suits the shot really well xx
It's a beautiful image Lynn and you mentioned that you added the background so everyone knows exactly what they are looking at. You should definitely do more experimenting as you are obviously very good at it! Fav for me too.
I agree with you about going too far with editing, it takes away from showing your real photography skills, however, after saying that this is still an amazing picture because it provides an escape from reality, and we all need that
@lauramalone82 Laura, loved your comment that a little processing never hurt anyone! I was just feeling like this was a LOT of processing. Thanks lots for the fav
@macromover Jan, I really appreciate your comment about creativity in editing and processing and I need to take your advice and be proud! Thanks so much!
Ummmm by the amount of comments perhaps you're on to something!!!!!!! Why not do it...it looks fabulous and editing is a huge part of photography....look at how many people were touched by your creativity...keep going I say ;0) well done, and yes, another fav :0)
Relax, everyone need to experiment and have some fun on occasion!
Background really works
Love winter trees
