She ate some corn and most of the suet in the little basket for downy woodpeckers, then patiently sat in the tree in the wind and cold and waited. I guess she knew we would put more food out! She and some others then enjoyed the apples and peanuts we threw out. We don't feed them until the weather is frigid and frightful!
@congaree My husband bought some squirrel proof bird feeders. They have cages out away from the feeder. I don't like them! I don't mind feeding the squirrels and I've always liked watching their acrobatic tricks to get to the food! And I've got some great pictures of them hanging on the feeders!
@shutterbug49 Yes, I've watched the squirrels bury nuts in the Fall, but we still enjoy feeding and watching them during the winter. Our spoiled cats like sitting at the windows and watching them too!
