Glass sculpture again. by maggie2

Glass sculpture again.

This is more of the sculpture. It is beautiful, but I always wonder about the dust it would collect. So I don't plan on buying one for my home. :-)
Beautiful sculpture. Agreed, looks like a dusting nightmare.
October 26th, 2010
Wow, amazing! I'd be afraid of breaking it!
October 26th, 2010
Dusting would be a nightmare! But it is a beautiful piece!
October 26th, 2010
Almost looks like tentacles. Kind of scary to see from this view. Did you win?
October 26th, 2010
Awesome sculpture,great pic.
October 26th, 2010
@wac Wendy, I didn't even gamble. We went for dinner and a Halloween party. Next time I'll do a little gambling.

@pennewolf @bill_d @mama @bribuccigrossi thanks guys for your comments.
October 26th, 2010
The dust thing is the first thing I would think of. is there something wrong with us? It is beautiful though
October 26th, 2010
Very beautiful, this is called chihully made by artist Dale Chihully. There is a big exhibit of this glass at Fred Meyers Gardens in grand Rapids Michigan until the end of October.
October 26th, 2010
@sarasdadandmom Ha Ha Saras dad. It is the first thing I thought of too. Then I thought of what a great picture it might be, then how beautiful it is. That's my priorities. @marileed I would love to see more of his work, but I'm not near Michigan.
October 26th, 2010
This is stunning--------I would hate to dust it too------LOL!
October 26th, 2010
@bbm Barb, thanks, yep we all agree about the dusting.
October 26th, 2010
Love Chihully! There a few pieces at the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix that look like cacti. Great shot!
October 26th, 2010
I live in California and the thought of this in my house during an earthquake.......... Yikes! Nice shot!
October 26th, 2010
Just beautiful!
October 26th, 2010
Wow! That's impressive art, in an outlandish kind of way. I agree that I wouldn't want one in my home, but it certainly makes for a dramatic photo.
October 26th, 2010
@katrinacristy @robv @ladydi @godsgirl Katrina, I would love to see other pieces of his, and thank you.
Robert, I'd be afraid of the earthquakes. Thanks for the kind words.

October 26th, 2010
Wow-amazing!
October 26th, 2010
This is very unusual -- I'm with you; I would NOT want to dust this thing.
October 26th, 2010

I've never seen glass sculptures like this, awesome!
October 26th, 2010
Beautiful, we had a Chihuly exhibition at the Phipps a few years back!
October 26th, 2010
Wow that's incredible! I'm so glad you posted the entire piece!
October 26th, 2010
A great shot of a neat glass sculpture. It looks like the same artist that is hanging in the Kohl Center in Madison.
October 26th, 2010
@markbuehl Thanks Mark, I hear from many people here that the artist is Dale Chihully.
October 26th, 2010
This is amazing. In a smaller scale it looks like a pile of worms! I wonder how THEY keep it clean.
October 26th, 2010
I have been to a place with sculptures like that, The
Borgata in Atlantic City.
Love the photo!
October 26th, 2010
These are so pretty--but I can picture myself falling into one and breaking it to smithereens! Beautiful
October 26th, 2010
in my home i'd just say the dust is part of the installation....you know, the final touches in the artistic brilliance of the arteeeest. ;-)
October 26th, 2010
This is so cool! But I would hate to be the one to keep it clean!
October 26th, 2010
amazing detail !!!!
October 27th, 2010
whoa! cool sculpture....i wonder what it would look like lit up?
October 27th, 2010
I was going to ask if this was Chihuly but I see it's already been said. Dale Chihuly is absolutely amazing. Some of his stuff is on display around Nashville right now and I've had the chance to see the installation at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens. My favorites are the pieces like this hanging in the museum that we can't photograph and the Moon and Sun pieces. I would give anything to own something he's done.
October 27th, 2010
Nice one. Indeed some beautiful sculptures.
October 27th, 2010
Oh, I was going to ask the same thing. I love Chihuly's glass. I've seen an exhibit at a Conservatory - and some of it in various places, like Bellagio's lobby ceiling.
October 27th, 2010
@pfmandeville Pamela, I have not idea. It is pretty though. @alecio It is beautiful. @clarissajohal @clarissajohal Clarissa, me too. @gill It does look like pasta. October 27th, 2010
@pfmandeville and everyone obsessed with dust: Firehose? ;o)
Margaret what an amazing shot, such life in this piece. I think it qualifies as spooky! Great shot.
October 27th, 2010
So beautiful, exotic, and intricately done!
Great find!
October 27th, 2010
i would so break that on accident. :) cool photo!
October 27th, 2010
@halcyon49 Yes, I think a firehose may work. :-) @bugik @laceyjogautreau Can you imagine the noise if that broke? Thanks for the comments guys. I appreciate them.

@luxvivens It does look like sugar. :-)
October 28th, 2010
