A face only a mother could love.

My lunch time visitor. She had sunflower seeds, and I had a peanut butter and banana sandwich.
Oh it's been a while since I had a peanut butter and banana sandwich. I have been seeing quite a few wild turkeys this year.

@digitalrn Rick, I have seen quite a few in our area, but this one came alone and stayed about and hour just eating or sitting. So I now have a hundred turkey pictures. :-)
@seungjun Thank you for your kind words.

Nice to see a wild turkey. Ours are very different. We only see these in poultry pens.

@girlie lol, we have heaps of scrub turkeys in brisbane robin, well they'd be best to fly at the moment with all the flooding ...

January 11th, 2011
The feathers are so clear, & I can almost reach out & touch the bird.
January 11th, 2011
Great capture. Seems unusual to me to see it sitting on the snow. I wonder how they survive the cold weather in the wild.
January 11th, 2011
Ooooh, lucky you! I love these guys!

Oh, I could love it - nicely roasted....sorry....:)

January 11th, 2011
Nice shot. I have only seen these in the distance in the wild. They are interesting birds. I lik the way her brown feathers contrast with the white snow.

January 11th, 2011
Poor cold thing, I actually feel bad for it!
January 11th, 2011
Nice capture! I'm not used to seeing them standing still. I had one that used to follow me down the walkways at work in camp.

Lovely! And looks like she's really waiting for you to hand her a taste of your peanut butter and banana sandwhich. Yum! :-)
January 18th, 2011
@bugik They are so shy. I have to hide when I take pictures of them and if I make a noise they run. This one ran three times when it heard my camera, then would come back.
