It's all about the tail.

Leslie Manna has given me some terrific information about animals. I love that. Leslie has also challenged me to try for different shots showing this information. All male lions have black tips on their tails thought to be used for communication. Here's the black tip Les...I got it! (Not taken today.) I have 8 billion lion pictures so used one from March.

If I could choose a way to die being mauled by one of these beauties would be it...so powerful, beautiful and amazing. As it is will probably die in my sleep in my seventies...boring.

@bruni Bruni, I just looked for a picture that had a decent shot of the tail. I don't think this is a good shot, but it does have a tail. :-)

I sure didn't know that! Great shot and info about how lions use their tails to communicate. 365 is like an online school.

Great shot and great info. Please don't be offended. My Internet connection is all messed up and I've had a devil of a time staying connected long enough to comment.

Nice one! I took pics of the white spots on the tiger's eyes today at the Sacramento zoo and thought of you!

again a great shot!

Oh, my dear Maggie - I don't know which is more amazing: you, or your photographs!! I'd say both are exceptional. :-D By golly you did it! There it is, clear as day, the black tippity-tip of his tail. I also like what's going on in this shot; the "freeze" of the water droplets is great. Was he drinking?? Thanks for brightening my morning, Les X

@ldpaul Linda, I love the community. Never expect comments but am thrilled to view and talk with the great people on here. I hate it when my internet isn't working. I feel for you . :-)

@tabbycat Tabitha, I didn't know about the spots on the eyes. I have to see it. How is the Sacramento zoo?
posted October 4th, 2011
Doh! Did I write 'eyes'? I meant 'ears'. LOL!

Sac zoo is small, but rather nice. I really loved all the water features! So many animals have their own waterfall, stream, or pool in their enclosure and the tiger sitting in the glass window was awesome! (pics on FB). I fed a giraffe and watched two tortoises having homosexual sex! For a measly $10, it was a grand experience! :-)
posted October 4th, 2011
@tabbycat You fed the giraffe...Sounds terrific, full of excitement and love. :-) Eyes, ears....it's all the same. I thought you knew something about the eyes that I didn't.
