Wonderful shot! I love the position of his/her wings...:D

That beak is nearly as big as his body, is this some kind of humming bird?
June 18th, 2012
Nice shot, I just love watching them fly around the feeder, I think I have two families around that fight over who eats and when, cuz you know, the feeder, even though it has eight holes, is just not big enough for all of them.

Very prettty capture. I find those little hummingbird so hard to photograph. They don't seem to ever light on my feeder and they move so fast.

Wonderful capture! I don't think we have any hummers in our area. Great job.

Love to see one of them at the feeder. he is actually sitting there and here I thought they just hover and feed. I'll have to plant some flower that will attract them..I know they are around but the feeder along has not attracted them.

Beautiful capture, especially with this bird which, I gather from all the comments on this site, is especially hard to catch.

My neighbor lady has a feeding hanging in her garden and was wondering why she doesn't attract any humming birds and she doesn't even know what they look like so I send her you abocer picture ..hope you don't mind.
June 24th, 2012
I appreciate shots like these so much more now that I've finally tried them myself. Beautiful, but tricky little bugger.
June 25th, 2012
Nice catch.
June 25th, 2012
@bruni I don't mind a bit.
June 25th, 2012
@maggie2 We went out yesterday in the pouring rain to buy some foxglove and beebomb as I was told they attract the hummingbirds..so we give it another try..but first I have to make room in my garden. the neighbor is going to do the same..so we're keeping our fingers cross and hope it'll work.
June 25th, 2012
wow great sharpness! love his pose with wings tight down at his sides.
June 26th, 2012
@bruni Good luck Bruni. I hope you get some. I have my feeders over my flower garden. Japanese lanterns, Josephs Coat, and others that I don't know the name of.
