This is SOOC which is good for me! I have learnt to use the manual settings to get the effect I want. The only modification is the vignette. A nice little park called Queen's Reserve is only 5 minutes walk away and in winter, only the big pine trees have leaves. Most of the others are oaks including this one having a rest!
Lovely photo, Maggiemae! It has a beautiful soft and vintage look to it. You are so brave doing this in "manual." I do go on manual sometimes, but I mostly stick with Ap. When I go on manual I get serious, and drag out the tripod. And that rarely happens. lol
Lovely, brooding shot.
I don't want to think about winter as we are still in the midst of summer here and having such lovely evenings.
The class that I took we could only turn in manual shots so I learned to do it for eight weeks straight. Bless that man for making me do it as I have a handle on it - but now often use other settings and when I can't get the manual right I shoot in Auto and then start from the camera's suggestions and go from there.
That's so pretty! It reminds me of an antique viewer where they'd put a slide in and see the shot 3D. They always had a bit of a vignette around the edges on those. Beautiful wintry shot!
Very nice -- I love the light and antique quality of the photo. And good on you for learning how to use manual settings. I signed up for a class in digital photography and hope to have it figured out by the semester's end.
It reminds me of a view through a looking glass or through a time portal. Well done - I'm learning that B&W is underrated but coming back because of photos like this.
@doblaine Thank you , David for your thoughts, I do agree with you - it is somewhat better than the 1800 photos and paintings because we can choose the exposure!
Are they still alive? The dead of winter is the feeling I get. Because of this 365 challenge I now know my P&S has a manual mode.. hahaha
Although I do use the different modes I just about always now also try some manual setting. I feel fantastic when I can't improve it with processing and it stays SOOC.. doesn't happen all the often though...
