Our cat is obsessed with the infra red dot light and will chase it down passages, up walls and outside the door! Of course, we are in charge of that light but she hasn't worked that out yet!
My brother in law calls it "Spot" and whistles for it and catches it in his hand and it drives his dogs nuts that spot gets attention and that he can catch it.
I have seen some pretty funny videos on YouTube etc. of animals and even children chasing these things. I've always wanted one for when I teach. But it would also be fun to play with it! lol Cute kitty!

too much fun, I once aimed our survey instrument at Air Force one to view it better as it flew over a jobsite once ,then it hit me it uses a laser to locate the prizm, glad I did not hit the button ...lol but it was a great view of it and the fighter jets that flank it... lol nice capture of the laser
