This is a side door in an old Oamaru building still called the Drill Hall where 'drills' were held.
Three good things ( to follow @happypat and @judithg's lovely habit of doing so and allowing us into their lives):
1/- I was picked up by John going past in the car when I had decided to walk home from town in 5degC and with a wind chill factor of 2! My face was so frozen, I couldn't work my mouth to say thankyou!
2/- I managed to find space for a beautiful new glass fronted cabinet that is going to arrive but the cat's basket is in a different place (she will sulk).
3/-Lovely warm fire all day kept us warm while snow fell in Dunedin not far away!
We had a Drill Hall in the town I grew up in. As with most things in childhood I didn't wonder at the name, but good to know why it was called that. I like your 3 good things.
Love, Love your three good things maggiemae....so original & a glimpse into your world!! Cold & a fire ...a bit like here LOL !!
A red door is a thing of beauty & I like the branches filling the foreground.
Cats can sulk big time!!
BTW I read all about your father in law & I aim to watch the movie soon!! John must be quite a celebratory in your neighbourhood!! Do you have folk knocking on your door!!
@happypat No, nobody does that, Pat but everybody recognises the name! You will love the movie - no violence, no sex (well, just a teeny bit) and lots of action and lovely scenes.
That a wonderful shot - the light, the red and the tree at the front all make it perfect! The cat won't be happy and they have ways of showing this displeasure!
