Seemed appropriate that this flower should be used to celebrate our wedding anniversary! It is growing outside our motel unit. 42 years seems a long time but time has passed so quickly! I sometimes don't feel old enough to have two almost middle aged sons and their growing up years don't seem so far away! Many of my wonderful friends on 365 are of the same era and it is so special to be able to share pictures and thoughts of their lives too!
Three good things:
1. I almost remembered the botanical name of these flowers - almost ....strelitzia or something?
2. The memorial service we came for didn't have any hymns, his casket was placed on his beloved motorbike and it was very moving.
3. Home soon - the cat will probably have dementia and my pot plants will need their own memorial service!
Simply gorgeous. Happy Anniversary. I know what you mean. The numbers seem like such a long time, but as long as the years have been happy ones they fly by us. We've been blessed, my friend.
A big,big hug for your wedding anniversary Maggiemae & John.....42 years is a long time but it will have gone in a flash, many congratulations.
I checked out where you were last night & the route you must have taken....sounds a very moving send off for your nephew, he would have loved his last ride on the bike.
You will be glad to get home...nice to go away but so nice to be home!!
