Lake Rotoiti by maggiemae

Lake Rotoiti

In the Nelson Lakes area. The net connection is so tenuous I can only type one sentence at a time! We arrived here after a long rainy drive from Cape Foulwind (love that name)! The lake was still but we couldn't see the high mountains on either side. Gradually being able to explain more....., If I keep trying for the next 3 hours, I might be able to get my three good things in!

Three good things:
1. I have plenty of time and will not let poor net connection beat me!
2. I counted 28 sandfly bites on just one foot but found hot chilli sauce works a treat- applied topically!
3. Making a movie of our travels to send to overseas family but running out of time for postage now!
Perfect!

Beautiful view -- water and mountains both and a lovely dreamy quality. Cape Foul Wind, eh? I can just imagine how it got its name!
December 9th, 2013
this is beautiful maggie, i love the low clouds on the hills ...sorry about the bites !!

Beautiful pov, and the calmness of the water is so peaceful. I find that very hot water, as hot as one can stand it, takes the itch out of mosquito bites; apparently the heat destroys the enzymes which cause the itching. Wonder if the hot sauce does something similar? I know it's a different kind of heat.
