From the garden

I don't particularly like silver beet by itself (being discreet here) so try to mix it with other produce. This pie was made with minced silver beet, eggs added, corn, and sliced sausage. Herbs were coriander, nutmeg and lemon rind. Quite acceptable.

Three good things;
1. There is enough for three meals.
2. Got the hot water cistern turned up - its under the kitchen floor and required a lot of crawling around and passing screwdrivers!
3. Wound up my chiming clock and enjoying its soft sounds.
looks very tasty! And now I know what silver beet is! Lovely presentation here!

a beautiful presentation of a wonderful looking meal! Love the dark background! Do you not like spinach quiche (made with silverbeet and feta cheese or cottage cheese?)

@angelat I certainly do Angela but didn't have those ingredients in the fridge. Feta goes so well, I know!

I have never heard the term silver beet and had fun trying to figure out which portion of this amazing shot you wre referring to. In the end I looked it up and now you have educated me a bit. Thanks, Maggiemae. You have done a magnificent job of presenting and photographing your gourmet effort!!

I had never heard of silver beet either or heard a hot water heater called a cistern. I love your pictures always but this presentation made me sure you had photographed your meal at a nice dinner out.

Wonderful - it looks delicious as well as visually appealing. Silverbeet is what we call chard, isn't it? Good for you - we use it often. Yum!
