Our local Lion's Picnic is normally held beside a quiet pond where boating and other ridiculous activity happens. Today it was raining and cold so we moved to the local Hall. Here we are with wonderful food straight from the Farmer's wife's kitchen - and the women on one side, the men on the other!
Three good things.
1. With coats on we didn't freeze to death.
2. New potatoes with butter on were a specialty
3. Its good to listen to other women at times.
Well that's usually the way it goes....women want to talk to other women & men want to talk farming & motors. When we used to go to Young Farmers dances in the late fifties & early sixties all the girls where on one end of the village hall & all the men at the other end. At the start of a dance we used to see them setting off from their end & think ''is he coming towards me?' Proper dancing in those days too...good times & we didn't need drink!!
@espyetta It was cold - 11degC which is a high in the middle of winter here. The hall was so big it would take hours to heat so we just put outdoor jackets on!
Nice shot, Maggiemae. Looks like you all made the best out of the rainy outdoors. Please send some rain our way. Still super dry here with no rain in site, cool in the morning and warm in the afternoon.
