A good 'hedge fund' by maggiemae

A good 'hedge fund'

Doesn't really apply except for the reality of the hedge! Behind this small gateway lies an old house and in this small house lives an odd person who wants to keep to himself!

Three good things:
1. I spotted this opportunity on my way back from a ukelele singalong at a Dementia Home
2. Although they didn't singalong, some of them knew the words.
3. So glad for mental health!
your three good things are so good today! what a stupendous hedge!

I love this...and am so intrigued by this odd person! Wonderful capture and love the title also. Your humor is so refreshing!!

Beautiful
February 12th, 2014
Beautiful!!! This is just wonderful.
February 12th, 2014
Interesting capture and POV.

Gorgeous hedge and gate! Good thing he's odd otherwise he'd have fixed this or torn it down. But it has so much character with that tilt!
February 12th, 2014
a mystery behind this gate.
February 12th, 2014
@olivetreeann I agree, Ann - including character makes a good photograph! Must try for more!
February 12th, 2014
Incredible photo! A ukulele sing-along? I'm IN! Also, I want to meet him! :)
February 12th, 2014
Wow, lush green.
February 12th, 2014
Do you wear petticoats for dresses and flowers in your hair, Julie? Might be OK then!
February 12th, 2014
great title, great shot

Deb
Great capture, Maggiemae! I want to see what's behind the hedge :D
February 12th, 2014
@deburahiru Its a very thick hedge, Deb - I was scared there would be someone with a net on the other side to catch trespassers!
February 12th, 2014
Nice shot. Openings like that always make me want to peer through them. Love the sideways slant of the opening.
February 12th, 2014
What a magical find!
February 12th, 2014
Dare to venture in and invite the person to play ukelele along?
February 12th, 2014
@yaorenliu gracious, Yao! I think the only instrument this guy could use was a nebulous cigarette! Truth is, I don't know!
February 12th, 2014
great shot.
February 12th, 2014
Mm! Intriguing ! I want to know more! Lovely shot!
February 12th, 2014
Lovely peep view, dementia is an awful illness - cruel
February 12th, 2014
@windridge yes I think so too, but private property is ultimate?
February 12th, 2014
@claireuk its so difficult when you don't know what is going on in the brain! A recent neighbour was in this home and I couldn't work out from her expressions what was going on in her mind!
February 12th, 2014
@maggiemae @maggiemae Heartbreaking, my Mum is similar but not fully 'gone' yet, I hate that expression but can't think what else to say
February 12th, 2014
@claireuk Its reassuring to know, though, Claire, that they are not distressed! Its only the ones left wondering what happened to the person they loved!
February 12th, 2014
Now THAT's a hedge! Beautifully photographed, even with a uke under your arm.
February 12th, 2014
I love this shot...there's something wonderfully mysterious about that little cottage behind the hedge.
February 12th, 2014
Looks like a setting for Alice in Wonderland.
February 12th, 2014
LOL ... nice capture
February 12th, 2014
That is thick
February 12th, 2014
What a great shot. You just have to peek in.
February 12th, 2014
Very intriguing shot! It definitley evokes an air of mystery!
February 12th, 2014
I'd love to get beyond that hedge! You'll have to befriend the "odd" person!
February 12th, 2014
That's very large Maggie, wonderful shot.
February 12th, 2014
What an awesome find! Beautiful archway of greenery, and I like how you can peek in at his humble abode.
February 12th, 2014
A bit of a Hobbit job. I'm sure they were thinking about singing along.....
February 12th, 2014
Lovely composition!
February 12th, 2014
Beautiful capture
February 12th, 2014
great spot maggie
February 12th, 2014
With a hidden gate he is doing a great job
February 12th, 2014
Looks like something out of a fairy tale. The house isn't by any chance made of candy, is it?:)

Bev
Nice shot! I love the color of the hedge. It has great texture. I don't know how big the door is, but in the photo it looks small. You'd think that it was a door for a hobbit. Could the person who lives in the house be Bilbo Baggins? Great capture.
February 13th, 2014
Love that green. Lovely shot, Maggiemae. I love that your Ukelele Club went to a senior's home. I'm sure the residents enjoyed it. (Like you I am grateful for mental health--my heart goes out to those struggling with dementia and their families.)
February 13th, 2014
great shot. Love the 3 good things. What a great idea.
February 13th, 2014
Love this it's like a scene from a fairy tale. I can almost imagine it being the house that Hansel and Gretel found that lies beyond the hedge.
February 13th, 2014
Lovely find
February 14th, 2014
Very cool...
February 16th, 2014
Somehow it reminds me of a 'Hobbit Hole'! I like the red door visible.
February 18th, 2014
that is one luscious hedge and the tilt does give it character. bless the odd person.
February 19th, 2014
