Autumn by maggiemae

Autumn

Could be called a mess - I brought in a golden leafed branch to put on the window sill and it's continually dropped tiny gold leaves. The only way I can clean this up is with a vacuum.

Three good things;
1. More water blasting - the back garage wall is clean and white now.
2. The painter has come and started on the eaves, window sills and one side of the house looks brand new (58 years old)
3. A favourite dish - lightly poached egg on a bacon, cheese and tomato toasted sandwich!
What a stunner. So crisp in focus, the composition is so lovely. Love it in primarily mono!

Lovely composition and capture

My word this looks so lovely maggiemae....perhaps black & white gives it a tidier look than in colour.....very pretty & delicate!
You will be all spruced up for winter!
March 20th, 2014
Fav forme as well Maggie - if it's a mess it's a pretty one!
March 20th, 2014
It is so beautiful. Love it, Maggiemae. Fav.

Your sandwich sounds delicious!
March 20th, 2014
@happypat Its a wonder I got this photo, Pat! I had to balance on the bed and avoid the painter who was also balanced on his trestle outside the window!
March 20th, 2014
@yonnie Thanks Yvonne! Your fav is special to me! Sandwich has a lot of protein in it and is inclined to make you reach for the indigestion tablets!
March 20th, 2014
But it makes a beautiful picture. I like the shades and contrast and the frame finishes it off well, Maggie.
March 20th, 2014
This reminds me of Japanese bonsai, and the mono really brings out the form and lines, beautiful Maggie, fav.

March 20th, 2014
The colour tones in this are just lovely.
March 20th, 2014
Worth the mess to have such cute little golden leaves sprinkled on the windowsill.
March 20th, 2014
@dide Yes, Dianne, I still haven't cleaned them up and they are scattering all over the place when there is a draught!
March 20th, 2014
This is quite surreal. Like a fully grown tree in a vase. I like it xx
March 20th, 2014
very nice photo maggie, the dropped leaves add a nice artistic touch to your shot, so no hoovering 'em up :)

@trishaclancy thanks Trish, this is a lovely pewter jug bought in Penang which helps!
March 21st, 2014
@maggiemae we were in Penang last year! I loved Georgetown. Did you manage to see the street art there? Afraid I didn't get to bring back such a beautiful jug.
March 21st, 2014
@trishaclancy don't remember any street art - just lots of steps up to Buddhas and food stalls!

@jackie8 I think what you have said, Jackie is what I saw in this branch - bonsai. I've actually been trying to do this for ages and now I've done it and not even known I've done it!

Very lovely...I like the petals on the windowsill...the whole picture looks almost infra-red!
March 23rd, 2014
I love this. FAVed. I also notice that you live in NZ south island, which I also loved when I spent a month there last year during my BIG60 Trip. My daughter's partner comes from Christchurch so we started there and toured around finally ending up in Nelson, which I fell in love with for its historic feel, but saw so many stunning and beautiful places on the way around the island.
