The Waratah by maggiemae

The Waratah

An Australian plant but seems grow in NZ just as well. Ours is quite old and flowers every year. We planted another and it is languishing but I think it takes years before it develops flowers. This flower is at the bottom of the tree.

Three good things:
1. Nothing on my todo list which is good because I have succumbed to another bug and am wheezing and spluttering around the house.
2. Afternoon sun
3. Another good book from iBooks
What a wonderfully cool looking flower. How unique and different from anything I have ever seen.

@cocobella It is big, Corinne - about as big as a pudding plate! Makes me think I should do another one showing the actual size somehow!
October 13th, 2014
@maggiemae Impressive it made me think in a shape of a flower I've seen in Tahiti called a "porcelain" (I have no idea of the english name)
