To me these bollards alongside a bike/walk track round the harbour, looked like hippies joining hands. A Hookers Sea Lion was seen here yesterday. Not much else on offer for a photo today - it was very cold and windy. Some snow on the hills.
Three good things;
1. John's phone call to Noise Control seemed to work. Party over the road had loud thumping music pounding out for 10 hours! It stopped at 3am!
2. Being lazy.
3. Too lazy to do the dishes, even!
Oh, they DO look like they are holding hands, and I love your processing! I am not so sure that John's call to Noise Control worked, though.....it sounds more like they pooped themselves out!! I would be walking around in a haze, too, if a party kept me up that late!
@panthora He rang at 1.30 and said that at 2am the noise stopped but I heard it at 3am so I think they took no notice either and kept on - rotters! i'll go over and let off a few firecrackers under their window!
This is a beautifully composed shot, your edit almost makes t look like a painting. Poor you awake with thumping music until the early hours, so selfish and unthinking of some people!
You are so right.....funny as soon as someone points it out you can't see anything but holding hands! Rather sweet....all together in a line! A loud party is just the pits but at that time of the night a disgraceful intrusion ....thumping music really penetrates even your chest!
@happypat You are right, Pat - it was felt in the body! This property is rented and changes hands every so often for some reason but always seems to be to young people.
I love the idea of the hippies holding hands - just makes me smile! Oh dear nothing worse than noisy neighbours partying all night! You deserve a lazy day after that!
@miata2u No, not photoshop, Peggy - its Befunky, a free app and you choose "Featured Effects". Then all sorts of painterly effects you can choose! Sometimes it works, other times not!
I can certainly sympathize. We have neighbors across the street whose teenage son plays video games until the wee hours. When his window is open we can hearing swearing at the game and the characters. Next summer we are not going to be nice about it. Great shot- it does look like they're holding hands- hippies or little school children.
@maggiemae It is awkward in a way. These neighbors are actually very good ones- their son just needs to either close his window, or learn to control his tongue when he's playing into the early AM. As for your neighbors, it could be uncomfortable, but it's probably better to say something first, instead of through the police. I would like to think that most people would not mind being told to tone their party down if it was done considerately. Good luck!
Great shot, Maggie. Nice perspective. It does look like they are holding hands and they are wearing hats (the metal rim and the round on top)! Nice processing to bring out the texture and detail. As for the party people - I lived downstairs from some college kids who liked having parties. First party, we talked to them and they said sorry and turned the music down but still thumping over our heads. Second party, talked to them again and were told to f*** off. Called the police. They broke it up. Woke up the next morning to vomit all over the roof of my car because one of the party goers was that intoxicated. We made them clean my car spotless or we were calling the police again and they would be cited with vandalism as they were the host of the party. I don't mind music but after certain hours it's just rude.
