The house of ill repute. Photo taken from my bedroom window where we were subjected to the thumping of loud bass of music played at a party here. It started at 5pm and finished at 3am!
I have to admit admiration that next morning quite a few friends arrived and they cleaned up the property and surrounds. A big green bin was there and rubbish was picked up from everywhere!
Three good things:
1. Very quiet day
2. Wisteria developing in spite of a bout of winter temperatures.
3. Cat got so hot from her basket in the sun, she flopped into the shade of the coffee table on the floor.
Oh so you have those in your area too. We have a few in our neighborhood who just think the entire world loves hearing their loud annoying music as they drive down the street, or sit out front of their homes talking to their friends. How they can hear each other God only knows.
Nice to hear that the friends came around to help clean up. You don't mind the odd night of lost sleep so much then. Nothing worse than cans and beer bottles littering the street the next day.
Yes they aren't so bad then.....as Rick says, they love that music so are positive that every one else is loving it too! I can be a bit guilty there too....love to play music I like loud...or would do if I could! Nice peek at the culprits...the long haired one a bit grungy!
LOL House of ill-repute has a shady-lady connotation here! Maybe you should go over and take photos at 3AM- they might quiet down earlier if they know you are documenting a case against them!
I like @olivetreeann 's idea! Or you could go over really early in the morning and knock on the door to ask them if everything is OK since you heard so much noise over there the night before! ;~}
@grammyn@olivetreeann Your comments made me smile! You have got to think though, if they know its you making a complaint, some friend of theirs could go and damage something on your property or do something like that!
@maggiemae@grammyn Love your idea Katy! Maggie when they see you tell them the other neignbors knew you were into photography and asked you to take the shots. Then point to the house on the other side of them!
Actually this reminds me of a funny story. We had some neighbors down the street a while ago (and since moved) who like Hip Hop and Salsa music. They had a bad habit of blasting it in the afternoon hours. One day Jeff was fed up with the Latin/ Spanish Hip Hop stuff so he pulled out his professional DJ equipment, set it up, and blasted the Star Spangled Banner by the Boston Pops and then the 1812 Overture as loud as his equipment would let him go. We were never bothered by their music again. (o:
At least they cleaned up! We used to have neighbours like this - nice group, but partied often. Kevin got so fed up he used to go out to the garage at 8 a.m., turn the speakers their way and put on War of the Worlds at full noise! Was a few weeks before they forgot and started up again.
It is quite annoying having loud music especially next door to you -- but we must not get to be "grumpy old women "-- we are very lucky where I live -- a very quiet area !Great capture of the culprits though -- nice to see them clearing up ! I have n missed your photos lately and have just discovered that I no longer followed you - I do not know how that came about -- but I am back following you again !
What you do is go over at 6 am and pound on a door until someone answers, and ask them if you woke them. When they say yes, say I know, I didn't get much sleep either.
Yes I am with Terry on that one, had experience of noisy music when trying to sleep in the past. Quite impressed that they cleaned up though. Have to admits I did like my music loud when younger.
i think they have loud music because they are already deaf from too much use of their headphones that are on full blast, too. what i found the last few years is that a person who talks loud does so because he/she has hearing problem and couldn't hear him/herself so they have to raise their voices to hear themselves. the young people of today will be deaf and also have bad backs (from those low waisted pants) by the time they're 40. the one good thing is your neighbour cleaned up. nice spy shot!
Good for them to clean up after the party. Love the visual of your cat. Nice shot. WIsh I had longer zoom on my new camera. I think of you every time my camera stops zooming at 24x zoom, wishing for more.
I wouldn't have been happy with music blaring until the wee hours of the morning. We have noise laws here that you can't do that after 10pm. Lucky for me, I have neighbors who don't have parties. That's good on them to clean up. Nice shot of the cleaning crew.
This is one thing that really grates is loud bass music. Got a few stories, some funny, some threatening as I have dealt with them myself. I don't hold back. Go and knock on the door and ask them to turn it down. Seems to work in Taupo but not in Whangarei. Got really bad that I felt frightened but wouldn't stop me going over or calling noise control.

@maggiemae I suppose that is true.
