This is Moeraki Beach where the boulders are a major drawcard to the area. These boulders are grey-colored septarian concretions, which have been exhumed from the mudstone enclosing them and concentrated on the beach by coastal erosion. Its a lovely beach for walking along and stretches for miles!
Three good things:
1. A great meal at the Boulders Restaurant above this beach with the most succulent ham.
2. Got required signatures for a letter to approve the internment of the ashes of my half sister and her husband. There is a lot of application stuff
3. John's reading of a wicked poem he found at both the funeral and the Lion's meeting today.
Very lovely beach, Maggie. My mum's ashes are in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Maine. If I want to visit her, I need to take a boat to her coordinates. So sometimes I just drive to the coast in New Hampshire and walk along the shore of the Atlantic there and it helps me feel a bit closer to her. That's good you got the signatures.
@prttblues I do think the place where the ashes are should trigger all the memories. If they are in the ocean, its not quite the same but you can stand on the coastline and still summon the memories!
@neatz I think the person themselves would like to think they were part of a huge and world wide flow of the oceans! But the ones left behind need a place of remembrance!
@yaorenliu She is amazingly after having cancer and the treatment! She's a real character with her wild white hair and her great devotion to natural herbs and fresh food!
What a gorgeous shot, Maggiemae. Nice to see the people to be able to see the scale to the boulders. They are huge. Sounds like a great place to eat. FAV
