I was actually outside the gate shooting some lovely pink colours in the sky. Then I saw flashing lights from the left and swung the camera around. It was on handheld night and seemed to cope well particularly when I steadied it against a pole! Now I wonder whether I was seen!
Three good things:
1. I wasn’t worried by a cop driving into the driveway!
2. John shifted the bed out from the wall and I could vacuum there - I didn’t volunteer - it just had to be done
3. How much mental activity do we have to do to halt the dementia march! I figure thinking about heaps is as good!
@tiedmark Yes, the guy being chased got straight out of his car and went towards the officer. His body language was quite predictable - he turned around facing me with his hands behind his head - not because of 'hands up' stuff but because he knew he was done!
Your cops are on the ball catching speeding drivers! This has turned out really clearly...your camera is good in the dark! Mental activity ....the amount you do in your life I have no qualms you are in danger of losing your marbles maggiemae!
@happypat It wasn't pitch dark though when my camera needs to be so still. I really don't do as much as you do, Pat! Not as much socially, thats for sure!
wow! nice catch, maggiemae. here, when you're stopped by the cops, you can't get out of your car, lest you want their guns pointed at you. cops would have to walk over to the driver, unless they order you to get out of the car. i think that you are active enough to get demetia at bay. you are active in your home and surroundings, taking photos, thinking of ways to present them, you have your ukelele group, you should be good.
Great candid capture. I am surprised though that the man got out of his car, I don't think we do that here in Australia (or at least I don't - not that I am a serial offender)
Maggie, I think when reading all the comments that you have enough material here to start a novel, with all of 365 writing it! I love the photos but I also love the chit chat. As regards this photo very well captured, right time right place right equipment
Great reaction to get this on camera. Yes summerfield is right, we don't get out of the car here and as for keeping dementia at bay, why do you think this 80 year old is active on 365. maybe not as much as when I started in 2010.
I have also heard that Sudoko puzzles, crossword puzzles and games that use any kind of mental activity are some of the best ways to retain mental acumen. I'm horrible at math so the Sudoko puzzles would be instant insanity for me. But I do like word puzzles! And as long as you do them when you're not driving, you'll stay out of trouble with the law too.
Great night capture! I hope when dementia takes over you still remember how to use your camera.....horrible, horrible disease, and I hope you are not seriously concerned about that. And, I love the fact that we all have our cameras on the ready when something like this happens!
@panthora No, not at all worried, Osia but I hear all around me people have completely lost the plot! i know what I forget and remember and also what gives me great pleasure (365) and thats got to be good!
Great shot of some ones misfortune....being thankful it was you!! :)
