There is something missing here...

This heritage wharf in our harbour is frequented by these birds and they assemble here in their hundreds. I’ve taken photos of these birds before but with a lesser camera. My zoom can get so close to the subject which is amazing and pleasurable to me.

Three good things
1.John is better up than down. Coughing seems to happen in bed.
2. A great lunch in a great harbour restaurant where I had a $100 credit after winning a photo competition. Shared with friends.
3. Using my home grown chilli peppers in a pizza topping.

Beautiful picture! Husband and I were wondering what kind of birds these are. Cormorants?

@gijsje Yes, Bep - they are cormorants or pied shags!

Hurray for superzoom cameras!! Beautiful birds.
I am glad John is feeling better, but maybe he could sleep with his head elevated? Probably draining into his throat which is causing the coughing at night.
April 12th, 2015
@panthora Good idea but I think his chest is very tight at the moment and he is wheezing more than having phlegm problems!

One may be headless but they are interesting. They look quite big birds. Love the textures of their feathers

Great closeup shot, Maggiemae. I miss having long zoom. Poor John, I hope he is better now. I do love your title and your humor. Sounds like a wonderful lunch and nice of you to share your winnings. How was your pizza as I remember your peppers being quite spicy or was that another type? FAV
April 17th, 2015
@darsphotos Thank you Darlene for your thoughtful comments! Our peppers are frightfully hot but with cheese or meat, palatable!
