Another lovely property that I bike past and have been wanting an excuse to stop and take the photo. The gates are closed so they might be all away! This is a lovely and probably historic property and is constructed with the strong and creamy Oamaru limestone that lasts for centuries.
Yolanda's adventures continue on my other page.
Three good things;
1. Communication via 365 to the other side of the world - so easy on 365!
2. Finding through 365 that one can make rhubarb scones!
3. Life is so good!
What a lovely place. I must say, I absolutely love your "three good things" in all your posts. You have inspired me. So that at the end of the day, I list three good things that have happened to me that day. Thank you.
This looks lovely- I'd be thinking "Oooo- they're not home! Perhaps I could just take one or two steps past the gate" if you could open it! Beautiful shot.
So inviting! Lovely light and textures in the limestone, plus the angled lines of the path lead right down past these lush trees. :) I do like how you list the "three good things" of your day - very thoughtful and optimistic. :)
Beautiful image! Lovely light and composition! I love your 3 good things and always make sure I read them as normally at least 1 makes me smile! Have good weekend Maggiemae!
This is so beautiful maggiemae......just a perfect place to live....love all the greenery round it...a fairytale house! There is a possibility we could be visiting your area next year, our grandson has decided to try working on someone else's farm & has had interviews on farms round your area. His favourite & looks like most likely place is a only a few miles from you. I applaud his descision & it's good to get out from under dads feet sometimes. They are putting a manager on his farm until he decides what to do. He really likes South Island & prefers the fresher climate.
@happypat That is very exciting, Pat! There has been quite a lot of conglomerates that have come into the area and built assets to last. I think its to do with the irrigation: http://www.noic.co.nz/about-noic.php
@maggiemae Very interesting maggiemae, I know this guys farm is in this area & his family has been there for a number of years, they have just bought another farm in that very area....Brian wasn't sure if the nearest Fire Station was Duntroon or Oamuru ...this guy is a volunteer as William would be too....hasn't got the job yet so fingers crossed!
@happypat Duntroon and Oamaru fire stations are both run by volunteers - Duntroon is about 30 mins away from here. There are some hefty dairy farms around!
@happypat How exciting! There are quite a few really big conglomerates in the area that have put a heap of asset development recently. I think it is because of the huge benefits of the water
What a lovely area, and yes, life is indeed good in a place like this!! So happy for you, and that you are sharing this beautiful part of the world with the rest of us!
