Dusk by maggiemae

Dusk

I generally take one photo during the day in case another doesn’t turn up but I saw these houses lit up by the evening light and turned up my ISO in an attempt to get a photo with less noise. Taken from my patio. So the other one may not be needed.

Three good things:
1. Great cafe where we can read the provincial paper while eating, a) a toasted cheese roll and, b) a cheese and onion muffin. Not together!
2. The cafe had a nicely mown lawn so I went home 3. and mowed ours! Last for the season!
If we get the forecast snow tomorrow, I’m going to watch one of my saved movies!
Lovely - hard o imagine snow tomorrow after an evening like this!

Gorgeous evening light - so you think it will be snow tomorrow ,while at last we are benifiting from more warmth and sunlight here
June 17th, 2015
@judithg I love the wintry blast when the house is warm and the fire going, Judith!
June 17th, 2015
@beryl Nice to know you are getting warmth - outside! Its 7 deg here at the moment and the hail is battering the windows!
June 17th, 2015
Lovely evening light and scene
June 17th, 2015
@maggiemae raining here - again! But we can't justify a fire in June!
June 17th, 2015
Hard to believe you'll be having snow when it's over 100 degreesF here. Whew! Lovely photo of this unique evening scene!
June 17th, 2015
You have a lovely view of the sea maggiemae....I know you were a coastal town but you are right on the hill with a gorgeous view. I would be sitting there lots! No noise there!
June 17th, 2015
@happypat Yes, I've taken lots of photos at this low light time and deleted them all for noise! It just takes a bit of planning as I seem to keep the ISO on 80 for most photos!
June 17th, 2015
Snow? How much do you get a year? Lovely dusky scene.
June 17th, 2015
Lovely, soft glow on the houses. Just looking at this relaxes me - and I need that since I'm at work in the middle of a mess. Had to take a moment to see photos and clear my mind. Thanks for your help!!
June 17th, 2015
@amandal In our particular coastal town, about twice a year! But elsewhere down and up the main road, heaps!
June 17th, 2015
i see a faint halo; is that from your processing? nice to have a view of the water from your home. it must be a source of relaxation for you!

Bep
Love the glow on the houses.
June 17th, 2015
We get it 4-5 times per year, maybe...when it sticks. It snows more but sometimes it's just flurries. We probably get a foot or two the whole year. And maybe only 6 or so inches accumulating at once.
June 17th, 2015
@summerfield Where's this halo that you can see - maybe its the reflection of mine?
June 17th, 2015
@maggiemae - maybe! :-)

With temperatures near 40C here snow sounds so refreshing!! Such a beautiful warm image taken during the golden hour, Maggiemae!
June 18th, 2015
@grammyn Thats 40 deg C!! Wow - know where I would rather be! If I get too hot inside, I can go outside and cool down - rapidly!
June 18th, 2015
Great light, tones
June 18th, 2015
@maggiemae LOL! that is why I like winter best! You can always add more layers to warm up! There is only so much you can take off to cool down before you are at indecent!
June 18th, 2015
@grammyn ...and when you are my age with my uncool body, the less shown the better!
June 18th, 2015
@maggiemae LOL! right there with you on that, sister! ;~}
June 18th, 2015

June 18th, 2015
@darsphotos Our lawn didn't go brown at all over summer! Neither did I!
June 18th, 2015
The clouds are brushing the sky haphazardly and nothing can outshine the southland cheese roll.
June 18th, 2015
I love this Maggie. It has a wonderful sense of peace about it.

What a lovely shot. Did you actually use the "s" word? If you do get it, you should take a picture of it before anyone drives or walks in it.
