Day 5 and more events!

Chugging along on this railway where they have never seen passengers on a rail car for years, was the same for this young steer! He thought the railway was hopscotch! Our rail car came to a shuddering stop, hit this young steer - he fell over, rolled and jumped to his feet and thought about his morning experiences. We, the rail car thought about his thinking and decided that we had preferential treatment. I was in the cab and watched this and appreciated the driver's point of view. The cattle beast's POV needed an update!

Three good things:
1. This was the only unexpected delay and as someone aptly pointed out - good that we could stop! Other delays are just waiting for coal trains (empty) to go through.
2. Our journey here was back through the mountains that you can see here and the snow that was forecast didn't get as far as here at this time.
3. At one place we went through, a whole school had come out to wave to us as this Railcar journey was not a common event. We all practiced the "Queen's wave"!

What a super shot - lucky you to ride up front. Hopefully the steer has learned a lesson from this. Where are you?

Love the story of your journey. When you say you were in "the cab", does that mean you were right up front with the train driver? That must have been quite a scary moment - for the steer at least!
September 11th, 2015

@bruni Every corner we went round, we thought this, Bruni!
September 13th, 2015
@fntngrma Hope not - badly hurt, but when we very slowly went past, he started running frantically alongside! The last I saw of him was him tripping and falling over. Other passengers thought he was ok though!
September 13th, 2015
What a great pov - poor steer, hope he was OK.
September 13th, 2015
Wonderful leading lines in those train tracks, great story, wonderful processing, and that steer adds a nice touch to all the greenery! Hope he was OK, too, but I cannot imagine what he was thinking as that behemoth of a train came chugging along....most other creatures would have gotten out of its way! FAV!

@panthora I think cows and sheep are silly - follow the leader and all that. (don't tell farming people this). Its the farmer who should have his hand slapped!

Beautiful landscape and shot. Glad the steer was OK
