From the wild territory of NZ to the ultimate in modern grand designs! Here is Whangamata and the beautiful wide and white sandy beach is only a block away. The houses all seem to have gates and alarm systems. Our apartment, we were lucky to get, there being a cancellation on this Labour Weekend.
This wonderful beach had about 20 people on it including two young fellows on paddle boards. A short distance away over the water were two rocky and uninhabited islands.
Three good things:
1. Makes one appreciate the simple life where people looked out for the other and you could catch a wild horse from the side of the road but people knew who they belonged to!
2. Does lots of money make a difference to life? It actually does with us as we have Sadie (our new Mercedes) who looking a bit dusty and having gone to rough and wild places where she had never been before, simply smiled and carried on!
3. So far we have had nothing but very comfortable beds!
Lovely family photo......love her skirt billowing out. Back in civilisation then! A different pace of life in different parts but all very enjoyable. You have to experience one to appreciate the other!
It sounds like you're having a wonderful holiday. For some reason I thought you were heading overseas. I wonder why I thought that. My parents own a beach house in Matarangi. We've spent a lot of time there over the years. It's a similar long white sandy beach with not a lot of people around! Lovely capture of the girl with her dad!
You are having such an amazing holiday!! Thank you for introducing me to all those wild and wonderful places.....North Island definitely looks like the place to visit! This is such a lovely, candid capture.....the little girl also looks like she is carrying her divining rod!!
