Feeling a bit more positive after a good night ( didn’t have any Vicks to put on my soles unfortunately)
On a hot visit downtown to buy plants for pots, we stopped next to the Oamaru Playground where I noticed a lovely sweep of daisies in front of a big tree. You can see Sadie (our Mercedes) parked back there.
Three good things:
1. Pulled out yards and yards of sticky weed!
2. The birds are really singing in our back yard!
3. Bought a blow-up bed and John plugged it in, it expanded, I rolled on to it - and it didn’t give a hint of expiring! I just about went to sleep there and then!
@happypat Yes, Kerry coming over with her family and another daughter who we haven't seen for 15 years (she's a bit of a black sheep). Only beds for 6 so hence the airbed!
@maggiemae maggiemae..do you ever let up? I like the visitors but not so keen on all the cooking of evening meals. Breakfast never fazes me but other meals not so keen! Perhaps everyone will muck in!
@happypat We have organised it well, Pat - 4 are vegetarians so it is difficult. Going away after the 1st night, staying in motels and eating in restaurants! Only 3 nights with them all. Then back home to think what are we going to do for Christmas!
@maggiemae Sleep I would think!! Thankful you aren't doing much cooking then specially for veggies! Nice to have a bed though for them & a base to go to.
What a joyous sight -- sooo lovely for you to be entering the summer down under !! and I love your phrase -"a sweep " of daisies !! Hope you are feeling better now that you are having family staying --I wonder who will be having fun in the air bed !!!!
A beautiful scene! Good to see Sadie - she has been taking you on some wonderful adventures! Lovely to have family visiting but don't overdo it! Hope you are feeling much better today!
@gijsje@pamknowler The family are all stepdaughters so not quite the same as one's own even though they have grown up with me. They tend to look in the corners and remark on how its not been cleaned! I suppose I should be pleased that they consider me as another sort of parent!
