Through the Lindis Pass with hail and wind behind us, there were masses of lupins on either side of us. It was like driving through God's Garden!
Three good things:
1. I'd bought warm clothes for this sudden drop in temperature in Central Otago where it is normally so hot. There was fresh snow on the mountains!
2. Our hotel was right next to an airfield where gliders were pulled into the sky to circle for hours!
3. A mango smoothie for lunch just hit the spot!
Ooh I love a good lupin! These are fab, all that colour & they look like they are growing wild. I heard you have had hail, twisters & rain in South Island! Summer? Fave as I love the colour & wildness here!
How beautiful. I love the colors. Sounds like you are doing better and enjoying travel. I have never heard of this plant. I am so behind. In the ER twice in two weeks. Newest diagnosis is Asthma. I have a really good Pulmonary Dr and got a new medication sample this past week to use, an inhaler that I use once a day. Pulmonary Function Test on Tuesday and back for results on Thursday. This medication is finally giving me relief, able to breath and no pain. I am ready to be well. Just had a huge storm pass through with lots of rain and wind and snow is now dumping in the mountains. Finally a normal year here. Take good care of you. FAV for your photo.
I took masses of snaps of these whilst driving down to Queenstown and I loved the purplish haze along the river banks. Then someone told us they were not native and had replaced the native flora. In two minds then!
@maggiemae Testing shows not definitive for Asthma but the medication for Asthma works for me so leaving me on it and doing more testing. One day at a time.
@maggiemae Absolutely, Maggiemae. My Dr is telling me what to do to keep my out of the ER and breathing properly. Now to figure out why it happens so it does not happen again to me.
