Son -in-law, Paul, tried to show John how to play chess in the big lounge of the hotel which looked out on to a wild mountain landscape. It was late at night and I wasn’t there - in our room trying to sleep.
Omarama, Countrytime Hotel. High Country Canterbury.
In the morning we all fought the argumentative receptionist who was trying to make us pay for what we hadn’t had. All good…!
Three good things;
1. This photo was taken using “soft personal focus’ on the camera that locked on to the eyes. I think it worked! From left, Robyn. John’s middle daughter, John and his second youngest daughter, Kerry from Manchester with young Jude (10) and Corin (16) to her left. I’m tucked in behind .
2. I was excited by the first glider that was taken up at 6.50am and from then there was one every hour!
3. Paul took this with my settings on my camera.
Lovely maggiemae & I see Kerry there! You look so young you look like you could be a daughter too! Don't tell John I said that he would not be best pleased! A lovely black & white family shot.....so impressed with your camera again!
I almost didn't recognize you with your smart eye ware. you're much too young looking for being their step-mother. Paul took a great picture of the family and I like it in b/w.
