Still trying for this better DOF with stacking but was hindered by high winds and high temperatures! While I concentrated on focus down at the harbour, my bike was blown over, what was in it sailed into the rocks and I felt sick with the heat - 34degC
So I chose one of our poppies to star. Put it above me while the tripod was in the sink to get the blue sky behind the poppy. But the background remained white. Never mind!
Three good things:
1. John is improving and actually ate what I had prepared - fruit smoothie, potato soup then chicken lightly cooked with green bean salad. Got to be good!
2. The temps being so warm made me want to sit outside and enjoy the garden later in the evening! The book was good, the birds were loud and the wind was dominant!
3. When I biked home on Ruby against the strong wind, I just put the speed on maximum and sailed up the hills!
What are you doing to me...I don't Fave flowers!! This is just stunning! The colours, the graceful curves of the stems & buds, it could be a painting it is so perfect. Hot & windy sounds tiring! Glad John is improving! Fave!
I want to hear more about the tripod in the sink. Hahaha. I can see u now sailing up the hills. Poppies were a good choice. We have some gorgeous, huge red ones in our yard.
Super skill at stacking - great focus! Glad to hear John is on the mend. A nice wind at your back is definitely something to be thankful for - in your face, not so much!
I missed this one. This is absolutely gorgeous! A fav. P.S. I am beginning to learn how to watercolor. Do you mind if I use this image as a basis for a water color painting?
Congratulations on TT, Maggiemae!! Loved this shot, and so glad to see it getting the recognition it deserved!! Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays, dear!!
Congratulations on making the TT with this lovely shot. How does you know if you made it unless someone tells you? It's not listed under the details under the shot where it mentions if you are featured on PP or TP. Not that I'll ever make it, LOL, but I was just curious.
@maggiemae Thanks. I will attempt to watercolor your poppy. I am really slow, but I will let you know how my painting turns out. So far, I don't think watercolor is my art medium, but I am just a beginner.
Good to hear John is getting better! And eating!
