Talking about a mad woman’s underpants (in my last posting)- this was the finished result! The sun shade tarpaulin was stretched nicely over the deck with equal pressure. Good on ya, John! I made another hanging plant to this scene and a couple of pots of flowers Its a shame that we see our next door neighbour’s old garage which is falling down over there behind the neatly cut hedge but I forgive her - she often cuts this hedge herself so beautifully!
One of my difficulties with 365 is when one or several friends post a series - maybe up to 10 different photos at one time sometimes every day. I’m afraid I want to see what others have produced and ignore all the series of photos which could be a shame!
Three Good Things:
1. Reading Boris Johnson’s The Churchill Factor . Absorbing as well as startling!
2. Corn is making the market now and its tender, flavoursome and so moreish
3. Mint added to our potatoes bought at the Farmer’s Market and named as Highlander Potatoes.
Thiis is a rugby team in NZ and we were confused. However the potatoes were red - does that mean native? — new, does that mean new talent? - and good with mint - does that mean they get vim and verve - I’m still talking about our Rugby Team in Otago known as the Highlanders!
It looks like such a relaxing place! the awning must do a fabulous job of keeping the heat and sun off of you while socilaize on the verandah!
corn sound divine! Potatoes and Mint? not so much although i like both just not sure I would like them together! Rugby...? Can't follow that bit at all! ;~}
We haven't had much of a winter until recently. Not that I am complaining mind you. But just after three days of getting snow your backyard looks so invitingly warm!
@jo13 Nice to give those in the North, something to look forward to! This deck faces north which is good but our prevailing wind is north east and generally quite cold!
I love these sail awnings in NZ, we don't have them here but they look fresh shady & modern. Your garden looks so beautiful & a great place to relax & spend time reading . I know what you mean about lots of photos & I do tend to only comment on one of them if I am short of time. That's the reason that I only post one at a time unless I have a particularly one I want to post.
Such a lovely porch and awning- looks like a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the day. And in this shot the garage doesn't look to bad- at least it's yellow!
What a beautiful awning and place to share some time outside and a drink or two, or a picnic or just to be with nature!! Our deck is open and we only share in the evening when the sun has passed over and gone down! LOL Awesome in the Spring, but a booger in the Summer!! Love your floors and the polka dot cushions!!
@cashew We get a cold north-easterly breeze on here most of the time so look forward to when the temperature gets up to 25deg! Not often, unfortunately!
You got me confused with your last of the Good Things. A lovely awning for some summer fun on the back patio. We have one which we leave there throughout the year.
your lovely processing makes the neighbor's shed look quaint & "cottagey" and I do love the way you share your wandering thoughts and your warm approach to life MaggieMae!
This is a really delightfully happy capture. So inviting and full of life an color. I would love sit there and have a glass of lemonade and just enjoy the view.
This is so charming and pretty and welcoming, Maggiemae, and different from what gardens and patios around here look like just now. I love the mellow colours too. Fav for me. I also have difficulties when someone I follow suddenly posts a lot of pictures at once. When that happens I sometimes just pick and choose a few to comment on, because I simply don't have time for all of them.
